Where Does Quentin Musty Fit On The San Jose Barracuda?

With the Sudbury Wolves season over, Quentin Musty is finally free to play AHL games. The former 26th in the 2023 draft has had an adventurous season in the OHL this year.
After being sent back from the San Jose Sharks training camp, Musty sat out for a month after requesting a trade. He returned and promptly broke his hand, causing him to miss 6 weeks. Musty still scored 30 goals despite only playing 33 games this season.
Musty should provide some much-needed goal-scoring for the San Jose Barracuda. The Barracuda have struggled to score with the AHL's leading point scorer, Andrew Poturalski, sidelined with a lower-body injury. They have been averaging 1.33 goals per game over the last three games, and the Barracuda have been averaging 3.45 goals per game this season, second in the Pacific.

Musty should be able to provide some much-needed juice to the Barracuda lineup. Having Musty slide into the second line with playing making Thomas Bordeleau and jack-of-all-trades Ethan Cardwell would potentially give the Barracuda a very solid scoring option.
With Filip Bystedt expected to return soon, those two can also create a natural pairing with Bystedt's ability to find quiet ice and set up in front of the net. While Bystedt isn't the playmaker that Bordeleau is, it would allow Musty to be able to create in the offensive zone.
Musty will also be a big addition to the AHL's best power play unit. With Luca Cagnoni running the unit, Musty could also be used on the power play much like Kasper Halttunen was used early in the season. While Musty does not have the cannon that Halttunen does, he can still rip it.
Musty should also be a huge asset in the transition game, with the Barracuda's blueline decimated by injuries and call ups, Musty can be an asset to help moving the puck out of the zone.
Sharks fans can rejoice as one major piece is now ready to take another step in his development.
